Hospice Compassus – an area group focused on providing quality end of life care – is seeking volunteers.
“Quite often I am asked what our Hospice volunteers do,” says Volunteer Coordinator Julia Logan-Mayes. “Some choose to sit with patients to relieve the caregiver anywhere from one to four times a month, run errands for families, bake birthday or anniversary cakes, cook a meal, read to patients, work in our office doing minor clerical duties, etc…”
The group seeks “compassionate” volunteers to serve the six counties in which they serve: Moore, Bedford, Cannon, Coffee, Franklin and Grundy counties.
“Just a few hours a month can bring joy, comfort and relief to caregivers who are weary,” Logan-Mayes says.
